is the most spiritually needy continent in the world today.
The percentage of “born again” believers is
smaller in Europe than any other continent. This begs
the question: “What can be done?"
Are
there new ways of evangelism
that reach out to those who would not ordinarily respond
to an evangelistic campaign, concert or street outreach?
We believe there are.
Reaching people where they are and at their point of
need is the type of evangelism that we have found most
effective.
Over the past ten years we have seen TEFL
(teaching English as a foreign language)
be used as a very effective tool to reach the unsaved.
Using TEFL, we have attracted people from all walks
of life. The professional, the laborer, the student,
the retired person, and even the unemployed have all
been attracted to TEFL because they have a need. The
TEFL program, which we have done, provides a quality
English course, strong in both academic and spiritual
content.
TEFL has been
used in Croatia for the starting of a new church, for
the strengthening of existing churches and for the betterment
of people’s lives in practical ways. We have seen
our students obtain employment because they had a diploma
from HIS English (the curriculum which we use); others
have been accepted into universities. But above all,
we have seen hundreds trust Christ as Savior.
